MHSAA LP Regional track meet at Concord 5/15/26 The coaching staff would like to recognize our athletes that participated in the regional meet yesterday in Concord. From a field of 16 teams, the girls finished 9th and the boys finished 10th. The girls team included Grace Davis high jumped and Naomi Hacker ran the 400 meter dash. The girls had 11 Regional medalists which included Felicity Ferrier taking 8th in shot put and Addison Kuch taking 4th also in shot put. The girls 4 x 200 meter relay medalled, taking 5th overall with the team of Taylor Doerr, Madyson Smith, Gracie Cassday and Evy Kemler. Annabelle Hacker Medalled in pole vault placing 6th. Both Taylor Doerr and Evy Kemler medalled in the 100m dash and both Qualified for the state meet, Taylor finishing 5th and Evy 7th. Taylor Doerr medalled in the open 200m dash taking 7th place and was the regional champion in long jump, qualifying for states with a jump of 16 ft and 4.25 inches. That is a pretty amazing finish for the ladies with 9 athletes participating. The boys also had some pretty fantastic performances totalling 21 medals. Fletcher Kuznicki jumped a personal best in high jump clearing 5 ft 6 inches and Wyatt DuMont participated in both shot and discus. Marky Kennel ran both the mile and two-mile also getting personal best times, 6:04.86 in the mile and 12:59.88 in the two mile. Riley Graf, Sawyer Anderson and Anderson Karkau all medalled in Pole Vault, Riley 5th, Sawyer 6th and Anderson 7th. Chris Matyas medalled in discus by placing 7th. The 4x100m relay team medalled by taking 7th with the team of Tucker Jolin, Reid Hacker, Carter Castilla and Cash Clark. The 4x200m relay team also medalled, taking 5th with the team of Tucker Jolin, Reid Hacker, Ayden Mayr and Hunter Greenman. The 4x400m relay team also medalled by taking 6th with the team of Carter Castilla, Anderson Karkau, Evan Sykes and Ayden Mayr. Individual medalists include Ayden Mayr finishing 5th in the 400m dash and Anderson Karkau in the 1mile run placing 6th. Evan Sykes medalled in the 300m hurdles taking 5th. Both Evan Sykes and Tucker Jolin medalled and qualified for the state meet. Evan Sykes took 3rd in the regional meet in the 110 hurdles by running a qualifying time of 15.56 seconds. Tucker Jolin also medalled in the 100m dash taking 7th and qualifying for the state meet with a time of 11.55 seconds. Congratulations to both our boys and girls teams for their hard work and dedication to track and field, keep up the great work. A special congratulations to our state qualifiers, Taylor Doerr, Evy Kemler, Evan Sykes and Tucker Jolin who will be participating in the Lower Peninsula finals in Hudsonville on May 30th. Also a special thanks to our coaching staff for the hours spent working with our athletes and helping them reach their performance goals.
